ProblemAnimation locked in scene files

1,121 Maya scenes averaging 28 MB, for a few hundred KB of curves each. Finding a walk cycle meant remembering which shot had one.

BuiltA shelf, not a folder

  • Capture a clip off a rig in about nine seconds, with a looping preview.
  • Browse clips and poses in a grid, filtered by character.
  • Apply to another rig with a double-click: mirrored, additive, or blended part-way.
  • Nothing lost: animation layers survive the round trip.

The use that earned it was review: the same clip on four body variants, side by side, in the time it used to take to open one scene.

The thumbnails took three tries: framing on controls cut every head off, framing on joints shrank the character to a sixth of the frame. More in Notes →
